The VCI represents the economic policy interests of around 1,700 German chemical companies and German subsidiaries of foreign corporations vis-à-vis politics, public authorities, other sectors of the economy, science and the media. The VCI represents more than 90 percent of German chemistry. The industry made in 2018 around 204 billion euros and employed 462,000 people.
