The Sino German Hi-Tech Park (SGHTP) is the first German-Chinese science and technology park in Germany and offers entrepreneurs, business associations, political and scientific institutions an innovative platform for bilateral cooperation. In a dynamic network, experts and decision makers from both countries pool know-how, contacts and business ideas. The SGHTP coordinates the interests and activities of the network partners and develops models for win-win situations. The focus is on smart factories, IT, e-mobility and life sciences.
The SGHTP connects the bilateral network via two interfaces in Heidelberg: The "German Offshore Center" brings representatives of Chinese economic zones and high-tech companies to Heidelberg; the "China Gateway Center" acts as a door opener for German companies and scientific institutions to the Chinese market.
Both competence centers are located in the "TechTower", an 18-storey building with more than 12,000 m² of office space in Heidelberg. From 2020, an additional innovation campus with modern office space, laboratories and production buildings with around 60,000 m² of usable space will be created - a bridge between the national INDUSTRIE 4.0 and CHINA 2025 strategies.
