PHYTOMIC GmbH focuses on developing new medicines based on natural extracts. We have unique expertise in the solubilization of complex mixtures and have exclusive access to newly developed Multi-Omics tools to reveal the modes of action. Based on this we focus on high-quality phytoextracts acting on complex pathways rather than on single pharmaceutical targets. The search for active single molecules is an expensive, risky and time-consuming process. PHYTOMIC proposes a new route: We build on the existing knowledge of traditional medicines. So far, the value of traditional extracts has rarely been translated into modern pharmaceutical products. This has many reasons. Most TM extracts have limited stability. They are often poorly water-soluble and show low and inconsistent bioavailability and are therefore incompatible with clinical test models. Moreover, the lack of understanding of their mode-of-action makes them often unacceptable for regulatory bodies and defined applications.
