The startup region Mannheim-Heidelberg is among the top 35 European ecosystems in the
STARTUP GENOME international ranking for promoting startups and economic growth.
The life science, artificial intelligence and industrial technology sub-sectors were positively highlighted as regional strengths together with the high concentration of research capacities and innovations.
Startup Genome's Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) is the world's most comprehensive data-backed startup report. Over 280 entrepreneurial innovation ecosystems and three million startups are featured in this year's 10th Anniversary edition presented at the London Tech Week. The report includes a ranking of the world's top 140 ecosystems.
Key Findings of the report are the significant growth of the Mannheim-Heidelberg startup ecosystem leveraging the combination of world´s leading universities as well as international industries. In addition, the presence of structures such as CUBEX ONE& CUBEX 41 and the co-working lab BioLabs helps startup-companies to settle, grow and scale-up in a fertile ecosystem.
In the last years BioRN committed in supporting transfer of basic research towards medicines and products, in particular by de-risking the development process and company formation, as well as by attracting investment.
Together with the Technology Park Heidelberg and Next Mannheim, BioRN is nurturing an entrepreneurial ecosystem, promoting the key- strengths, namely its international research and economical power and the high quality of living.
