PlantShield GbR develops and produces biological fungicides based on plant extracts - inspired by nature, safe and sustainable. They are developing plant protection products against fungal diseases based on plant extracts.
Should tests regarding efficacy be positive and tests regarding toxicity (to humans, the soil, the environment in general) be negative, PlantShield GbR sees a global market for their product, both for greenhouse and field crops.
Using substances produced by nature itself offers many advantages: they have already been developed and permanently tested for tens or hundreds of thousands, sometimes even millions of years. PlantShield GbR's approach of producing a ‘biofungicide’ (a fungicide derived from natural sources) is based on ‘biomimetics’ – exploring the potential of biological systems, analysing their functional principles, transferring these principles into technology, and hence improve quality of life.
