BioRN Support for the new Innovation Campus Health & Life Science

The Excellence University of Heidelberg, the two medical faculties and two university hospitals in Heidelberg and Mannheim, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research (MPI-mF) and the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI), have joined forces within the "Heidelberg Mannheim Health & Life Science Alliance". They are being funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg with a total of 40 million euros as the third innovation campus, alongside the "Cyber Valley" in the Stuttgart/Tübingen area and the "Mobility of the Future" innovation campus in Karlsruhe/ Stuttgart.

BioRN, the life science cluster of the Rhine-Main-Neckar region, is delighted with this decision and important milestone. As a regional network that unites all relevant stakeholders in health innovation, BioRN represents not only academic partners, but also industrial ones (small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large companies) that will complement the scientific excellence of the new innovation campus especially for the translation of research to patient care and the transfer into technological applications.
