The group of cluster partners can be divided into six categories:

• The diagnostic and pharmaceutical enterprises Roche, Merck Serono, and Abbott are the partners in industry. The region´s small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in particular represent the innovative potential of the cluster. There are almost 60 biotech SMEs among the cluster partners, 25 of which are currently participating in the collaborative projects with their own project or a cooperation project.

• Heidelberg University, Heidelberg University Hospital,  Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) cover the fields of education and research.

• The SRH University of Applied Sciences in Heidelberg and the Graduate School Rhein-Neckar work in further training and qualification.

• Concerning local politics, the continuous support of the cities Heidelberg, Mannheim, and Ludwigshafen makes them significant partners for the further development of the BioRN Cluster. In addition, the BioRegion Rhine-Neckar Triangle, the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region are important strategic partners.

• Service and infrastructure are offered by the Heidelberg Technology Park and EMBL Enterprise Management Technology Transfer Ltd. (EMBLEM).

• Important cluster partners in the financial sector are the Dietmar-Hopp-Foundation, the dievini Hopp BioTech holding, EMBL Ventures, and the Sparkasse Heidelberg.
